Project Highlight: Transformation and Organization

This month we’re highlighting a recently completed kitchen renovation. Dove Studio's designer, Jenny Lyons, worked with homeowner, Kara Rozell, to create a living, cooking, and entertaining space that was functional for her busy family of five.

Complete Transformation: Before and After

The kitchen had plenty of natural sunlight, so Jenny decided to keep the design light and bright with white upper cabinets and a fresh subway tile. The base and island cabinets are finished in a beautiful rich blue stain. Because Kara runs a company from home and has children in school virtually, an island with ample counter space and seating was a must.

It's not all about work though- a wall cabinet and wine shelf turned into a perfect beverage center.

More Breathing Room: Kitchen Organization

The homeowner, Kara Rozell, owns a company called More Breathing Room that specializes in space organization, moving preparation, and creating purposeful habits and routines by “guiding you and your family to find more intention, simplicity, and joy at home/work.”

After devoting her work to helping other people in need of organization and simplification, Kara decided to focus on her own kitchen. She took advantage of the full kitchen renovation to de-clutter and organize everything kitchen-related.

Kara utilized her organizational skills throughout the kitchen. She placed custom inserts into the drawers for cooking utensils. She uses clear containers to group foods in her cabinets and a label maker to label all of her spices.
