Tuxedo Park: Timeless Craftsmanship in a Storied Home

Tucked into Atlanta’s Tuxedo Park neighborhood, this 1930 Colonial style estate, once home to golf legend Bobby Jones, has long been part of the city’s history. When the opportunity came to contribute to its top to bottom renovation, led by an incredible team of designers, builders, and creatives, we knew it was about more than cabinetry. It was a chance to help breathe new life into a local icon.

From the earliest stages of framing to the final moments of installation, we worked closely with our partners to design and deliver cabinetry that honors the home’s historic architecture while blending seamlessly into a modern, livable space. Every area we touched reflects a thoughtful balance of preservation, polish, and personal style.

Here’s how our cabinetry helped tell the story:

Formal Powder Room: Purposeful Passageway

This richly detailed walnut vanity, with decorative legs and oversized brass hardware, pays homage to the home’s original sophistication. The deep stain adds warmth and depth, creating a look that feels dramatic yet timeless.

When designing the piece, we didn’t have much to go on besides the beautiful hammered brass sink basin and faucet that Tish had selected—but that was all the inspiration we needed. The intricate walnut door style was the perfect fit for the space.

We also love how Means Carney Interiors carried that refined character into the entryway and stairwell leading up to the bedrooms, echoing the same sense of elegance and thoughtful detail.

The Modern Classic Bath

The bathroom turned out beautifully. When we met with Tish about this space, she had already selected a stunning gray and white marble tile paired with satin nickel accents.

To maintain the cool tones of the materials, we opted for a bleached walnut vanity to soften any red undertones and incorporated anthracite drawer boxes for contrast. The slim shaker doors and Ashley Norton hardware anchor the serene look.

Marylene Briere from A Touch of Stone fabricated the countertop and added a thin metal inlay around the perimeter—a subtle but striking detail that elevated the entire space. Designer Sandy Beck completed the look with a treillage-inspired wallcovering and soft blue ceiling, blending classic charm with a fresh, timeless appeal. Subtle golf motifs and artwork by Stephanie Ho tie the design beautifully back to Bobby Jones himself.

Verdant Mood

Inspired by the beautiful green tile selected for the shower and floors, we chose to complement rather than contrast those tones with a light green painted vanity.

The design features star-shaped gold knobs, acrylic and gold legs, gold hardware, and walnut drawer boxes, adding layers of texture and detail. We perfectly matched the paint to the tile’s natural tones and marble accents, creating a space that feels both playful and refined.

The rounded bead frame door style offers a subtle but distinctive twist on the classic thin shaker profile. This was one of the most fun spaces to design—and it definitely created a buzz throughout the tour.

The Black Fox Bath

We really leaned into the energy of this space. Inspired by the geometric tile selected for the bathroom, we debated between keeping the cabinetry simple or matching the tile’s bold personality. Ultimately, we chose a detailed door style that echoes the tile’s shape and finished it off with two-toned hardware for a playful, unexpected touch.

Marylene Briere of A Touch of Stone joined the collaboration, fabricating a stunning ridged countertop front that elevated the vanity into a true showpiece. To balance the look, we paired the design with a Sherwin-Williams Black Fox finish and streamlined hardware—bold yet refined, adding contrast without detracting from the home’s historic charm.

And we can’t forget the statement shower, clad in Symphony Aida stone from Urban Stone Source. It was such a pleasure meeting Marjorie Dalla through the showhouse and getting to see so many of her beautiful stone offerings firsthand.

Warm Wood, Bold Texture

One of our favorite spaces, this reeded alder vanity brought warmth and texture to the showhouse. The rich stain and tactile finish, paired with brass accents and marble tile, created a bathroom that feels both elevated and inviting—proof that small spaces can still make a strong impression.

White Oak Mudroom

Designed to balance beauty and function, this light-stained white oak cabinetry features anthracite drawer boxes and open shelving for a refined yet hardworking zone. With just the right amount of polish, it creates a welcoming everyday entry that complements the home’s thoughtful architecture.

Closed doors on one side conceal ample storage, while the opposite side introduces satin bronze metal doors with dark glass for subtle contrast. Integrated drawer pulls in a deep stain echo the open cubby and wood tops, tying the design together. Tish selected the tile from Renaissance, and the warm wood tones were chosen to complement it beautifully.

Upstairs Laundry Room

A true jewel box of a laundry space, this room features our Van Deusen Blue painted base cabinets paired with natural white oak uppers.

Every detail—from the statement light fixture to the art—was designed to elevate the daily routine. It’s a perfect example of how cabinetry can transform utility into elegance.

Basement Bar

Downstairs, the mood shifts. Matte black cabinetry pairs with warm walnut uppers to create a moody, masculine wet bar.

Dark porcelain surfaces by Walker Zanger and a curated selection of digestifs lend an escapist, speakeasy feel—transforming the space from a basement into a retreat. The cabinetry anchors the design with clean lines, rich tones, and brass-and-black textured hardware by Ashley Norton.

A striking pool table with orange felt by Milieu Designs and art curated by designer Lizzy McKay complete the bold, atmospheric look.

Outdoor Kitchen | The Pool House at Bobby Jones

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, you step into the backyard. We designed and installed this weatherproof outdoor kitchen—complete with paneled appliances and built-in cabinetry that seamlessly integrates into the reimagined pool house.

Once part of the front drive, the area has been transformed into a backyard escape inspired by iconic golf courses. The cabinetry anchors a full entertaining setup, offering a stylish and functional space for cooking, lounging, and relaxing after a round—or simply after a long day. With its preppy personality and subtle nods to Augusta’s “Golden Bell,” this pool house is as charming as it is practical—and we’re proud to have played a part in bringing it to life.

A Home Reimagined, A Legacy Preserved

This project was about more than cabinetry. It was about honoring a home with deep roots in Atlanta’s history and carrying that legacy forward.

From our first visit to the final drawer pull, we approached each space with care, creativity, and a deep respect for its story.

We’re proud to have helped bring new life to the Bobby Jones House, a reminder that when history and design come together, the result is truly timeless.
